What Is Channelling? Using a skill has three timed components in perfect world: First, there is the channelling. During this time, you have a progress bar on the screen, a circle around your feet building up power. You can be interrupted by enemy attacks during this time, and can also cancel by hitting escape. Various items of equipment (with -3% and -6% channel time) and apothecary powders (up to 100% reduction) can reduce this time. Secondly, there is the casting time. This is the actual animation of the spell. No gear decreases this time. Once ''both'' of these timers have completed the skill will take effect. The progress bar will be on screen for the total time. The third timer is the cooldown timer, represented by a portion of the skill icon being greyed out. You cannot use the skill again until this timer has expired.
