Accessed via nightscream island (entrance in dreamweaver port) this dungeon works very much like a harder version of FB51.  It is filled with monsters that roam, and with archers.
The ''Hallucinatory Trench'' is much like a souped up version of the [[Secret Frostcover Grounds]] (FB51) in that there are many mobs that wander and use ranged attacks.

It also has lots of doors which are opened by killing key monsters, and several routes to get lost in.

And ''also'' like 51 - you only get the last tab after you kill the first bosses.

Unlike any other dungeon, however - FB79 randomly decides which routes are locked and unlocked - meaning that each time you visit you will have to take a slightly different route.

=== Bosses ===
==Doors/Guards==

# Stygean Quartermaster - This is an archer-type monster, and hits very hard from quite a long range.  Luckily he has no AOE. He can be lured away from his guards (though since some of his guards are in front of him, this can be tricky to manager) - and once under control (running only into clear areas) is fairly easy to kill.  Though since his damage isn't reflected, archers and wizards can steal aggro if they aren't careful.  He lives in a little room off to one side and can easily be skipped.
Recently, the doors were removed from the ''Hallucinatory Trench''. In their place, there have been a few clapping hands added, similar to the hands in TT. Use some caution in passing through these hands, as they have a much quicker cooldown than their TT counterparts.

# Hooli the Black - Has a fairly nasty ranged fireball-type attack, but will melee close up. Not too dangerous. Most routes through the dungeon go through his room.
All hands are in hallways on the short path between Hooli and the final two bosses:
*3 hands in the first hallway. (Adjacent to the pink door line on the map above.)
*2 hands in the next hallway.
*2 hands in the last hallway. (Leading to the room with access to Brig/Linus, the tower guard, and Loon.)

# Linus, the Woeful and Brigand Transient are in the final room (unless you need to go back and visit Styg) and both move fairly slowly and are relatively weak.  Brigand hits harder, linus has a ranged attack.  It is perfectly acceptable to lure them both out and then AOE them.
There is no longer any need to kill the tower guard as the door to the final boss room is always open.

=== Quests ===
Previously, there were 7 doors in the ''Hallucinatory Trench''. Randomly, 3-4 of them would be open.

There are several quests involving this dungeon. Of particular note:
Set 1 (green):
*If the door to Stygean (east path) is open, you must kill Stygean to open the other door.
*If the door to Hooli (south path) is open, you must kill Hooli to open the door to Stygean.

# The OHT quest chain will send you to kill Linus (Quest: "Oceanic Stone") - as early as level 70.  You can do it then, or hold onto it until your FB. You won't be able to solo him at 70!
Set 2 (lavendar):
# There's a 202020 quest. You can do it in two visits, as long as you don't mind killing a boss to open a door. Which, since that's how you get your 4th tab, you don't.
*If the west door is open, you must take the long path and go by the Loon. If this door is open, the door at the end of this path will always be open as well.
# The Cuprite quest sends you to kill "strange runewolf" - and those are in a part of the dungeon which you might well have no other reason to visit. Blow up the towerling to open it (like in FB29) There's also a runewolf miniboss ("Bloodlusted Loon") down there, who is surprisingly hard, and drops particularly rare molds (since few people visit him)
*If the east door is open, you must take the short path into the center room. The door at the end of the long path may or may not be open.
# Don't forget to mine the pillar behind linus / brigand.
*The room in the big room is open is the long path is open. Otherwise, it is random.
# The pirate treasure you have to mine appears at several points through the dungeon - however since it respawns quite quickly it is easiest to just mine the two large piles in the boss room after linus and brigand have been defeated.

# The other quest that your map points you towards the trench for is actually for a dish on ''top'' of the entrance - you have to climb the hill. Sneaky!  You'll also probably want a second person to help suppress the monsters guarding it, because they will interrupt you whilst you try and mine, otherwise.
Set 3 (light blue):
*If the southeast door is open, you can take it straight to the last bosses.
*If the east door is open, follow that path north and around to the circular room. In this room, there is a tower type guard that must be killed to open the southeast door to proceed to the bosses.

The Hallucinatory Trench is much like a souped up version of the Secret Frostcover Grounds (FB51) in that there are many mobs that wander and use ranged attacks.

Doors/Guards[edit]

Recently, the doors were removed from the Hallucinatory Trench. In their place, there have been a few clapping hands added, similar to the hands in TT. Use some caution in passing through these hands, as they have a much quicker cooldown than their TT counterparts.

All hands are in hallways on the short path between Hooli and the final two bosses:

  • 3 hands in the first hallway. (Adjacent to the pink door line on the map above.)
  • 2 hands in the next hallway.
  • 2 hands in the last hallway. (Leading to the room with access to Brig/Linus, the tower guard, and Loon.)

There is no longer any need to kill the tower guard as the door to the final boss room is always open.

Previously, there were 7 doors in the Hallucinatory Trench. Randomly, 3-4 of them would be open.

Set 1 (green):

  • If the door to Stygean (east path) is open, you must kill Stygean to open the other door.
  • If the door to Hooli (south path) is open, you must kill Hooli to open the door to Stygean.

Set 2 (lavendar):

  • If the west door is open, you must take the long path and go by the Loon. If this door is open, the door at the end of this path will always be open as well.
  • If the east door is open, you must take the short path into the center room. The door at the end of the long path may or may not be open.
  • The room in the big room is open is the long path is open. Otherwise, it is random.

Set 3 (light blue):

  • If the southeast door is open, you can take it straight to the last bosses.
  • If the east door is open, follow that path north and around to the circular room. In this room, there is a tower type guard that must be killed to open the southeast door to proceed to the bosses.
