Mystics are a magic class that uses their arsenal of wood skills as well as a set of summoned pets and plants to attack, and their healing and defense skills to help themselves and their allies survive.  Instead of taming their pets like the [[venomancer]], the mystic has a fixed list of pets which they can summon using their skills.  The mystics can also summon plants, which then stay where summoned and affect nearby targets automatically.  Each of the summoned plants is used for a special purpose, from delivering damage, to AoE debuffs, to healing teammates.  Even though the mystic is a good solo class thanks to their pets, they're good team players as well, due to their various healing and support skills.

Along with heals and "DD", mystics are able to solo tank weaker mobs within dungeons and instances through use of their Devil Chihyu summon, and their plants. In their mid 20's to 30's they can start to taking on more than 1 or 2 monsters on at a time, which can help them level up faster than other classes, but because of the rapid MP usage they need to use use either lots of pots or MP charms, which can be expensive, or meditate frequently. Try to get a cleric's HP/MP regeneration buff to help counter the massive MP usage. Make sure to keep your tank and cleric buffed with your resurrect buff so they will be able to return to the fight much more quickly and save your cleric from a really long walk.

----

Mystics are the "love child" between a cleric and a veno. The most used skills will be your two starting attack skills, Nature's Vengeance and Swirling Mist for basic damage dealing. The type of pets and skill set you'll use will depend on whether you are filling a "DD" , "Support" or "Hybrid" role.

'''DD (Damage Dealing)'''

Summon-
Storm Mistress. While Devil can also compliment a full attack style, Storm has a constantly spamable ranged metal attack as well as her AOE.

Skill Sets- Nature's Vengeance, Swirling Mist, Gale Force, Bramble Tornado, Punishing Sting, Befuddling Creeper, Spidervine, Lysing, Thicket, Craglord, Energy Leech, Transference, Rapid Growth, Clear Thoughts

Strategy-You'll be on the front lines using Storm's range as you send her in while spamming Vengeance and Mist until you build enough sparks to fire Thicket or Crag. In TT, you'll be debuffing the boss (be careful not to overwrite other stronger debuffs) building chi and unleashing your Thicket or Crag while the boss is under your plants control. After using your two spark skills, try and Lys your plants to deal extra damage and more lasting debuffs then resummon Sting to continue the damage. Chi up your summon (Storm preferably or Devil after he Boost's himself) and send them in-after they burn through all their chi, Leech them then hit Rapid Growth for extra damage. This is where the preferences may differ-if you want more mag attack damage Leech storm and Growth will give an insane boost. If you used Devil, Leech him and growth to have both a boost in mag attack + a nice crit ratting. If you are not MP charmed, replenish your MP using Clear Thoughts and continue all of the above.

'''Support'''

Summon- Salvation
While both Devil and Storm have some nice "save your squad's behind in a pinch" control skills such as stuns and seals, you're much better off using Salvation.

Skill Sets-Break In the Clouds, Fallen Petals, Comforting Mist, Healing Herb, Vital Herb, Transference, Rapid Growth, Clear Thoughts, Nature's Barrier

Strategy-You are only half a cleric and while people can come back from the dead with your res buff, you aren't almighty. In most instances you can solo heal for, but take note you might have to work double what a cleric would need to work and you do not have Regeneration Aura (or BB) which cripples mystics a bit in preferred healing. You can still debuff but you will not be attacking-youre essentially trying to play the cleric role and because of this, you don't have time to spare DDing. Toss Salvation buffs on your main tank and Fallen Petals (helpful tip-Fallen Petals only works when your tank takes damage and only ticks 9 seconds after. It also stacks with Iron Heart) and set your plants as they run in to take aggro. If you have Sage or Demon version of Salvation and the boss is prone to AOE's, abuse her AOE shield on the group to massively reduce damage. Drop your Healing Herb and Vital Herb as well and constantly watch to make sure they don't stay off filed for long periods of time. Spam your Break In The Clouds while watching the Fallen Petals buff and rebuff when necessary all the while keeping Salvation chi'd up and healthy. When using Martyrdom, Transference before casting so that when the hits come in and her chi get's depelted in chunks, her buff will last a bit longer. In a pinch if you need to cast loads of heals in one go, Rapid Growth and if you're not MP charmed, use Clear Thoughts to regain Mana.

'''Hybrid'''

Summon-Interchangeable between all three

Skill Set-Everything at your disposal!

Strategy- If you aren't fulfilling on specific role or the other, this is the role you'll naturally fall into. Do all of the above as needed. There's not much to say except always remember to cast your Verdant Shell on yourself, as you can easily get wrapped up in utilizing all the tools before you.

The mystic's "jack of all trades" abilities come in handy in [[Territory Wars|territory wars]], allowing them to fill just about any role necessary, other than tank/catapult puller.  The Bramble Tornado skill, is also quite useful for pushing the catapult puller away. The Resurrection buff is great for quickly bringing back your own catapult puller as well.
Mystic's can provide a multitude of roles that support a wide variety of squad set ups. "Jack of all trades" in this particular case is a good thing.

'''Resurrection'''- This buff is great for cata squads, especially the demon version. Coming back without a charm tick in TW's is crucial when a barb goes down and is unbuffed upon resing. Cata clerics also shouldnt mind this too much.

'''Devil Chihyu'''- Nice back up stuns when you tab though high priority targets. Unless they have popped their anti stun this usually traps a good number of people unaware. Great for surprise stunning clerics in the air. Energy Leeching this summon will give you of course crit and p-def bonuses, which shouldn't be ignored.

'''Storm Mistress'''- AOE Silence from making it Sage/Demon version, and a nice Metal damage AOE makes her another great choice to have out as well. Leeching grants magic defense and magic attack so comboing it with rapid growth can produce some attacking power.
[http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1016301 Vixter's Mystic vs. Other Classes Skill Comparison]

'''Salvation'''-Her shields can save yourself and other people. Leeching her isn't exactly necessary as she acts better as a secondary medic around for catas. Put into a cata team she can AOE shield everyone near by (on ground cata units.)

'''Bramble Tornado'''-The only class sporting knockback that works on players, it is indispensable for pushing out incoming catas back a few annoying meters as well as incoming BM's and Seekers. While Demon Tornado adds an extra knockback meter,Sage shouldn't be ignored just because it doesnt have that extra meter (Sage Bramble has a chance to cast without consuming chi. Great for saving up for other chi reliant and high damaging skills such as Thicket) Take care while doing it to ranged classes-while it can interrupt channeling you dont want to fall out of range of your max and into easy range of their attacks.

'''Gale Force'''- You may or may not be using this skill often, but another seal that has an AOE is nice for control purposes. Also, it makes those pesky veno pets run away form you, giving enough time to dodge a fatal nix bleed.

'''Thicket'''-One of the Mystic's best two spark weapons aside from Crag, what's not to like about a seal, freeze, and additionally HF (from demon) or increased overall damage output (sage).

Depending on what you're going to be asked to do, always keep a few things in mind when TWing as a mystic in any given squad-

-'''If you can always be MP charmed'''. If youre caught in the middle of skill spamming and forget to pop MP pots youre going to be in a bit of trouble. Sice Mystics can troll with knockback, have their res buffs and have have an anti stun skill (Energy Leech), you'll always need to think on your feet.

-'''Have your Pet set to defend'''.(Unless it's Salvation) Regradless of whether its Devil or Storm you main most often, make sure it's set to defend. That way when you're handing someone else and a sin or some other class decides to gank you, your pet will go scurrying after them.

-'''Resurrect buff Cata Barbs and Clerics when they 1) Die 2) Get Purged or 3) Buff Wears Off'''. As with most mystic skills it's MP heavy and a level 10, Sage or Demon res buff will charm tick you. If you have the time and MP to burn and if you feel like it, you can also res buff your strongest DD's (such as your R9 or you Nirvana armored team mates)

Mystics are a magic class that uses their arsenal of wood skills as well as a set of summons (the summons will let you tap into other elements, such as metal and fire) and plants to attack, and their healing and defense skills to help themselves and their allies survive. Instead of taming their pets like the venomancer, the mystic has a fixed list of summons which they can summon using their skills. The mystics can also summon plants, which then stay where summoned and affect nearby targets automatically. Each of the summoned plants is used for a special purpose, from delivering damage, to AoE debuffs, to healing teammates. Even though the mystic is a good solo class thanks to their summons, they're good team players as well, due to their various healing and support skills.

  • Having summons and healing skills makes them excellent for both solo and squad situations
  • Summons can lure
  • High magic defense
  • Can use both AoE healing plants to perform heals similar to the clerics' "BB"
  • Very fast heals
  • Damage almost equivalent to that of psychics

Cons:

  • Massive mana use
  • Low physical defense
  • Low HP
  • Slow movement speed

Mystic Weapons[edit]

Magical Damage Chart: Lower-Low-Medium-High-Higher

Wand:

Medium-Medium damage

Magic Sword:

Medium-High damage

Pataka:

Low-Higher damage

Glaive:

Medium-Higher damage

For a mystic who focuses on their heals wands are recommended. Wands have the highest low-end magic attack and thus makes your heals stronger and more reliable.

Magic swords and glaives are a good weapon choice for those who would like to have a balance of decent heals and good damage output.

Patakas should be out of the question, unless you would like to focus on the spike damage potential more than your healing power. The gap between low-end and high-end is too big making the heals potentially weaker but also potentially gives incredibly high critical hits.

Note: The stats of the mystic summons are based on the weapon and armor you have equipped when they are summoned. Keep this in mind when picking your equipment.

Mystic Armor[edit]

Mystics need all the magic they can get, so therefore the only advisable thing is to use Arcane Armor. HP and physical defense shards are useful for PvP, otherwise it is advised to use any and all MP shards available for PvE, as you will be using a lot of mana. Useful extra stats are: magic, -channel, physical defense, vitality, and HP.

Ornaments should be magic rings and physical defense ornaments (with HP/PDef/Mag/-Channel bonuses).

Mystic in PvP[edit]

Mystics in PvP are capable of killing their enemies within seconds, but it is also known that mystics have low physical defenses, so it is advised to use shards that give HP and/or physical defense accordingly. Their knockback skill can knock back players although not much use against archers, being able to knockback melee attackers is still good. A mystic's single best PvP skill is probably Cragglord, due to it's immense damage. Cragglord can take almost any class out within a few hits, which also helps since even the sage version only lasts 23 seconds.

Mystic in PvE[edit]

Mystics in PvE are capable of not only soloing heals within squads, but are also capable of dealing immense damage through use of plants, summons, and their own skills.

Mystic in Territory War[edit]

The mystic's "jack of all trades" abilities come in handy in territory wars, allowing them to fill just about any role necessary, other than tank/catapult puller. The Bramble Tornado skill, is also quite useful for pushing the catapult puller away. The Resurrection buff is great for quickly bringing back your own catapult puller as well.
