Merge Request
I'm sorry - what the heck do fireworks have to do with flying? This merge request seems silly. --Vitenka
- Fireworks have nothing to do with flying, but if you actually look at the FireWorks page you can see that it is badly misnamed, since it's actually about aerogear. I have no clue why it was named that. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 21:51, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Starting merge below the HR. Basic structure for merge set up. --Flyingsoloist 11:07, 8 July 2011 (PDT)
TODO:
Add Tideborn/Earthguard aero.Merge in aerogear lists from this page.Apply easier to read/manage format for information.Verify that all the "unknown" aero on other pages was covered in above lists.- It is not. There are some "unknown" aero that I don't remember seeing in game. Will make a new section for this and people can update as they are released.
Update cost/source field for each wings to correct token/pack/boutique information.- Updated to most recent version of the source pages. Further update out of scope until merge is complete.
Add back in "see also"s and other references if necessary.Add in new/unlisted flyers (Ancient Gazer's, Fallen Roc, Black Pegasus untamed mount, etc)- Out of scope of merge.
Acquire missing images.Reorder tables?- At the moment, they're in the order that I got to them in. Potentially order them by: speed, availability type (free/boutique/pack), minimum level, other?
- I do think that having them broken down by race is one of the better options, so I'd like to keep that part as is.
--Flyingsoloist 11:38, 8 July 2011 (PDT)
- Updated todo list.
- Not all of unknowns have been incorporated - potentially make a new section for them?
- Lots of Boutique pricing information is out of date.
- May want to add in event boutique information (availability & prices). (Would be good for other pages as well.)
- Probably safe to unhook/delete the other source pages now, but needs another pass before that is done.
--Flyingsoloist 15:29, 8 July 2011 (PDT)
- Updated todo list.
- Added message about old aerogear not having the correct speed & ticket link.
- Removed "See Also" header. It just links to mounts and the Boutique. If it fits with the text, I'll add the links into the body of the page. If they don't fit with the text, they aren't needed.
- Updated prices to be consistent with the original version of this page. It seems to be the most complete and most recent. I have not verified these prices against the actual boutique and am considering that out of scope of the merging project. Although I won't revert them if anyone else wants to update them. ;)
--Flyingsoloist 16:07, 8 July 2011 (PDT)
- Updated todo list:
- Adding in missing flyers is out of scope for a straight merge. It'll require more research/work and shouldn't delay merging.
- Missing images will be considered the same as missing flyers
- Tables have been ordered by minimum level. Speed is upgradable and as seen by the changes with the Aero Delight gear set, changable by the devs. Cost and availability changes as items that were previously "rare" are introduced to the boutique and eventually made permanent. The only characteristic of the flyers that doesn't seem to change is the minimum level requirement. Sorting by this will make maintaining the tables easier in the future.

About Aerogear
At level 30, all races unlock the ability to fly using aerogear (also called aerocrafts or flying mounts). Winged Elves start at level 1 with the ability to fly but their wings consume MP with use. At level 30, all races can use the aerogear to fly without any penalty. In order for you to be able to start using the aerogear, you must first go to the Elder of Archosaur and complete the quest he gives you. For all races, the quest tells you to go to your races' NPC and speak with them. That NPC will have you complete a task and after that, you are able to use your races' aerogear. Should you somehow lose or sell your aerogear you can purchase the default aerogear received in previous quest for 20,000 coins. You may also purchase aerogear from the Boutique, some of which will allow you to fly as early as level 10.
Increasing Flight Speed
Permanent Increases
The speed you fly is equal to your base flying speed (5.0 m/sec for all classes) + the speed of your aerogear in its current mode (also you fly at half speed when the game does not have focus or is minimized). Most aerogear starts with two speeds, a normal speed and a hasted speed. Depending on what aerogear you have, these two speeds may be increased through the use of Boutique items or skills.
- Cost: 10 Silver
- Effect: increase your aerogear's speed bonus by +0.5 m/s. (This may be used only on aerogear purchased from the Boutique.)
It requires multiple widgets to upgrade aerogear, and a single aerogear may be upgraded multiple times, to a maximum of +3.0 m/s normal flight speed. However, it will require more widgets the higher it is upgraded (80 vs 60). See Upgrading Aerogear Guide for more information.
- Max. Level: 10
- Skill Type: Passive
- Required Weapon: Barehanded, Magic Weapon
- Learned at Level: 9
- Spiritual Cultivation: Spiritual Adept
- Effect: Increase Flying speed by +0.2 with each skill level. (Only affects Natural Elven Wings.)
Temporary Speed Boosts
Acceleration
While in flight, you can use the Accelerate command to fly faster. This has a separate meter that drains with use, and can only be refilled with Chi from Chi Stones. The Acceleration will cancel when the meter has been completely drained or you land. Take care when using acceleration and autopath as the meter will drain even if you are just hovering. The speed increase varies depending on the aerogear you are using.
Note: Natural Elven Wings cannot use the acceleration feature.
Wind Force
The Genie skill Wind Force can be used to give you a temporary increase in your flight speed.
Other Skills
Unless a skill states that it increases your flight speed, it only affects how fast you move on the ground. For example, a Venomancer's skill Summer Sprint does not make you fly faster.

Errata in Old Aerogear
If you have an old +3.0 speed version of the Iridescence, Rose Gold Gourd, or Razor Sting aerogear from an Aero Delight, and you want the +3.2 speed version, submit a ticket that includes a screenshot of your aerogear showing the aerogear's speed and they will help you get your aerogear upgraded.
Unknown Aerogear
Some of these wings are unknown! Please help by adding any information you know about them and moving released aero to the correct section.
Most of these aerogear are either from other versions of Perfect World or just don't exist; the chances are that over time Perfect World International may implement some of these aerogear into the game.
