Extensions
I just looked, and you don't have any extensions installed. I'd recommend at least installing ParserFunctions, as it allows for more elaborate templates. The Cite extension is also nice if you want people to add references to articles. Adding some of the antiabuse filters (like AbuseFilter, AntiBot, SpamBlacklist, TorBlock, and/or UploadBlacklist) might be a good idea as well. Information on extensions can be found here along with a list of extensions here or here. You can take a look here to see what extensions are installed at Wikipedia. Thanks. -- Sangodoc (talk) 20:19, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- For the abuse filters, we don't really need those if we assign moderators to the Wiki that check the recent changes a lot. Other than that, if this place gets more interesting, people will join and scout the changes as well, you could grant a wiki anti-abuse support prize to people once a month. (Again, I will not be valid a prize for opting this.) -- Initian - Rawr :3 Come talk to me! ^-^ 21:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
One other extension I'd like to see added is the ImageMap extension. It would allow you to make a single image you could click on, but it would take you to different pages depending on where you clicked on the image. This way you could make a map "zoom in" page, for example. -- Sangodoc (talk) 02:11, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Version
FYI, the latest version of MediaWiki is v1.15.1, but for some reason we're running v1.13.3, which is around 10 months old. You might want to see if you can get that updated as well. Thanks. -- Sangodoc (talk) 20:28, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Fix the link style
I have no idea what in an article is a link and what is text because it all looks the same. Please make links a different color or underlined or *something* to differentiate them from text.
The previous sentence contained 3 links. Could you tell? --Asterelle 21:26, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. Links should stand out by default. I set my preferences to underline links so I can tell what is or isn't linked, but links should be noticeable to everyone right away. Please make links a different color than regular text, like the way Wikipedia does it. Thank you. -- Sangodoc (talk) 07:56, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Noob Questions
Hey, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this kind of question, but I'll delete/move it if someone tells me to. Anyways: I am new to the idea of wikis in general, but I would like to become a regular contributor. My main two questions are how to place pictures and also how to add a new page. For example, we have a page for the Harpy Wraith, but I found no other page on any of the other world bosses. The Harpy Wraith page is well done; I was thinking of making similar pages for other world bosses, and then a World Boss page that explains what world bosses are, general drops, tactics, ecetera. This page would link to all of the other World Boss pages. (This is just an example of the pages I'd like to create.) Anyways, if anyone can help me, thank you very much. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to put this. -- Jeradal1 (In-game: Lost City- Christalah) 03:38, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- This is the perfect place for those kinds of questions. To create a new page, either edit the URL above after "/index.php/" to have the name of the page you want, like "/index.php/Eyes_of_the_Krimson", and edit that page; or do a search on the name of the page you want, and then click on the link it creates near the top of the search page.
- To add images to the wiki, first use the "Upload File" link on the Toolbox menu to the left of every page to upload the image file. To add an image to a page you can just put a link to the image like this: [[Image:YourImage.png]] , or you can use the Imagebox template (<-- link for more info) if you want something a bit more advanced. Keep in mind that clicking on the Edit link at the top of any page will let you see the source, so you can copy any useful code from other pages.
- Also, you might want to note the PWI Quest Bosses page, if you want a starting point to link all of the quest bosses together. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. And thanks for helping out. :-) -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 21:27, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Great! Thanks for the timely reply and the help. I'll be gone on vacation from tomorrow to next wednesday, so I won't be able to get started right away, but I can't wait to contribute. I checked out the page that already exists, and I think it's very nice. I'll definitely use that as a starting point and add the other world bosses to it. I think I'd still like to add a separate world boss page, as technically a world boss is one which doesn't have any link at all to quests. An explanation of the differences between world bosses and normal bosses (besides the obvious level difference) is one that I feel could be useful to both pwi newbs and it would serve as an eaiser starting point for the seasoned vet looking to plan his faction's next kill. Once again, thanks! (P.S. is there a way to auto-timestamp?)-- Jeradal1 06:47, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
- No problem, delayed help is still help. ;-) And yeah, there should be a separate page for a list of world bosses. Clarifying the difference between world bosses and other bosses would also be a good idea, since many think that Harpy Wraith is a world boss, instead of a quest boss, for example. Finally, you should sign your comments using "~~~~" to get the name and timestamp. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 21:06, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
