Noob Questions

Hey, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this kind of question, but I'll delete/move it if someone tells me to. Anyways: I am new to the idea of wikis in general, but I would like to become a regular contributor. My main two questions are how to place pictures and also how to add a new page. For example, we have a page for the Harpy Wraith, but I found no other page on any of the other world bosses. The Harpy Wraith page is well done; I was thinking of making similar pages for other world bosses, and then a World Boss page that explains what world bosses are, general drops, tactics, ecetera. This page would link to all of the other World Boss pages. (This is just an example of the pages I'd like to create.) Anyways, if anyone can help me, thank you very much. This is the perfect place for those kinds of questions. To create a new page, either edit the URL above after "/index.php/" to have the name of the page you want, like "/index.php/Eyes_of_the_Krimson", and edit that page; or do a search on the name of the page you want, and then click on the link it creates near the top of the search page.

To add images to the wiki, first use the "Upload File" link on the Toolbox menu to the left of every page to upload the image file. To add an image to a page you can just put a link to the image like this: [[Image:YourImage.png]] , or you can use the Imagebox template (<-- link for more info) if you want something a bit more advanced. Keep in mind that clicking on the Edit link at the top of any page will let you see the source, so you can copy any useful code from other pages.

Also, you might want to note the PWI Quest Bosses page, if you want a starting point to link all of the quest bosses together. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. And thanks for helping out.  :-) -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 21:27, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

Great! Thanks for the timely reply and the help. I'll be gone on vacation from tomorrow to next wednesday, so I won't be able to get started right away, but I can't wait to contribute. I checked out the page that already exists, and I think it's very nice. I'll definitely use that as a starting point and add the other world bosses to it. I think I'd still like to add a separate world boss page, as technically a world boss is one which doesn't have any link at all to quests. An explanation of the differences between world bosses and normal bosses (besides the obvious level difference) is one that I feel could be useful to both pwi newbs and it would serve as an eaiser starting point for the seasoned vet looking to plan his faction's next kill. No problem, delayed help is still help.  ;-) And yeah, there should be a separate page for a list of world bosses. Clarifying the difference between world bosses and other bosses would also be a good idea, since many think that Harpy Wraith is a world boss, instead of a quest boss, for example. 3 Quick Questions

1. Why have you not installed the help section for the wiki? 2. Why don't you have a item section? 3. Why did the images on the main page disappear? This is the message I see : Error creating thumbnail: File seems to be missing: /web/vhosts/pwi-wiki.perfectworld/htdocs/images/6/6a/Archer.jpg
