Accessed via. Nightscream Island (entrance in Dreamweaver Port) this dungeon works very much like a harder version of FB51. It is filled with monsters that roam, and with archers.
It also has lots of doors which are opened by killing key monsters, and several routes to get lost in.
And also like 51 - you only get the last tab after you kill the first bosses.
Unlike any other dungeon, however - FB79 randomly decides which routes are locked and unlocked - meaning that each time you visit you will have to take a slightly different route.
Bosses
Stygean Quartermaster - This is an archer-type monster, and hits very hard from quite a long range. Luckily he has no AoE. He can be lured away from his guards (though since some of his guards are in front of him, this can be tricky to manager) - and once under control (running only into clear areas) is fairly easy to kill. Though since his damage isn't reflected, archers and wizards can steal aggro if they aren't careful. He lives in a little room off to one side and can easily be skipped.
Hooli the Black - Has a fairly nasty ranged fireball-type attack, but will melee close up. Not too dangerous. Most routes through the dungeon go through his room.
Linus, the Woeful and Brigand Transient are in the final room (unless you need to go back and visit Styg) and both move fairly slowly and are relatively weak. Brigand hits harder, Linus has a ranged attack. It is perfectly acceptable to lure them both out and then AoE them.
Quests
There are several quests involving this dungeon. Of particular note:
- The OHT quest chain will send you to kill Linus (Quest: "Oceanic Stone") - as early as level 70. You can do it then, or hold onto it until your FB. You won't be able to solo him at 70!
- There's a 20/20/20 quest. You can do it in two visits, as long as you don't mind killing a boss to open a door. Which, since that's how you get your 4th tab, you don't.
- The Cuprite quest sends you to kill "strange runewolf" - and those are in a part of the dungeon which you might well have no other reason to visit. Blow up the towerling to open it (like in FB29) There's also a runewolf miniboss ("Bloodlusted Loon") down there, who is surprisingly hard, and drops particularly rare molds (since few people visit him)
- Don't forget to mine the pillar behind Linus / Brigand.
- The pirate treasure you have to mine appears at several points through the dungeon - however since it respawns quite quickly it is easiest to just mine the two large piles in the boss room after Linus and Brigand have been defeated.
- The other quest that your map points you towards the trench for is actually for a dish on top of the entrance - you have to climb the hill. Sneaky! You'll also probably want a second person to help suppress the monsters guarding it, because they will interrupt you whilst you try and mine, otherwise.
