A venomancer has the ability to tame these rare pets the same as normal pets using her Tame Beast skill and with a little extra knowledge, skill, and luck. The rare pets do not spawn in accordance with the normal spawn rate. Instead they begin spawning 5 hours after the server has rebooted and every 12 hours after the initial spawn and the time it was tamed except in the case of the semi-rare pet, Snow Hare (detailed below). These pets are sought after for their difficulty to capture, uniqueness, and high demand. This also makes them a source of income for the venomancer class. They are used to manufacture some Baby Pets.

Snow Hare spawn every hour after each individual hare has been tamed except at the (95 808) location where it is a 12 hour spawn site. The snow hare is one of the fastest pets in game. This is also one of the weaker of the rare beasts so take care so as not to kill it in the process of taming.

Increase Your Chances

Because these pets spawn so infrequently expect a group of competitive venomancer’s waiting at the spawn points. These rare pets move quickly once they are spotted and it is often a quick race to see who will damage and tame the beast the fastest. Therefore most venomancer’s, besides ensuring their Tame Beast skill is maxed to their level, also equip themselves with various skills, remedies, or equipment to help increase their chances of taming. Below are listed various implements:

Equip with -% channeling gear
These armor, rings, etc. reduce your channeling rate, thus shortening the length of time it will take you to cast your Tame Beast skill. They can be identified by an added attribute stating “Channeling -3%” or other similar percentages. This attribute can be stacked, meaning if you are wearing three different items each with -3% channeling your channeling time will be reduced by 9%. As you will likely not be in battle with this pet, you can wear lower level gear so long as it has -% channeling to maximize this effect.

Apothecary Remedies
Crimson Blood Powder (Requisite Lvl. 30) ~ Increases player’s attack rate and channeling speed by 15% for the next 15 seconds.
Windrage Incense (Requisite Lvl. 45) ~ Doubles player’s channeling speed for the next 5 seconds.
Crimson Soul Powder (Requisite Lvl. 75) ~ Increases player’s attack rate and channeling speed by 25% for the next 15 seconds.

Genie Skill
Relentless Courage ~ Increases attack speed, movement speed, and channeling speed for 8 seconds. Requires genie level 23 and attribute points distributed Wood (2) – Fire (1) – Earth (2). This skill maxed to level 10 will increase your channeling speed by 15%.

General Taming Tactic

The competition high and the opportunity rare, be sure to place each of your skills and apothecary remedies on your shortcut bar for quick response as the beast will likely be tamed within a matter of seconds once it spawns. Locate your character nearby but not directly on top of the spawn point. Depending on your comfortableness with fast clicking you can either be zoomed in on the spawn location or zoomed out. As the beast does not always appear directly on one particular spot and will run fast and far the minute it has spawned it is generally believed best to have a wide area view. Once you have clicked on the beast you may either choose to let the other venomancer’s attack it with their pets, fists, or magic and watch for an appropriate health level before starting your sequence of taming or you can attack the beast yourself. If you attack it yourself note that these rare pets are often stronger than the average mob of their level, but do have their limits. A general rule is to use a pet that is within 15 levels higher of the rare pet you are taming. If this is unavailable use a skill of the appropriate level or fox form in order to keep up with the pet and damage it enough to tame easily. As with other tamable pets, the lower the health bar, the better chances of taming it you will have. However, with competition, the other venomancer’s will likely start their taming skill before the beast has even taken 30% damage so watch their characters for the blue glow of their Tame Beast skill being activated as well. This is when it is important to have some implement in place to increase your channeling speed. Before casting your Tame Beast skill activate one of the channeling speed remedies and/or the Relentless Courage genie skill. Remember that the cool down of the Tame Beast skill is long so it is rare to get a second chance. Best of luck on your “Success”!
