- A common question: "Will my equipment wear out?"
- Well, they will if you do that with it...
Most consumable items (potions, scrolls etc.) do not wear out. They hang around until you use them.
Most manufacturing items (herbs, coal, DragonQuest items etc.) do not wear out. They hang around until you trade them in.
A few special items (piggy chat icons, the upgraded aerogear you get from the Supply Stash) will last a short period of time (a week) and then vanish.
Most equipment, however, does wear out eventually. Equipment has an 'endurance' statistic. When this statistic is zero, the item is broken and useless.
- Armour endurance is reduced when you take damage.
- Weapons endurance is reduced when you attack.
Equipment can be repaired, raising its endurance to the maximum, by choosing the 'repair' or 'repair all' option - found at the bottom of every NPC trade screen. This costs a few coins.
You don't need to wait for the item to break to do this, it is cheaper if you repair regularly.
Of course, it's cheapest of all if you sell the item before it wears out. There's no real need to repair during your early levels.
The cost of repairs depends upon the value of the item. Glowing golden armour costs a lot more to repair than a pointy stick.
NOTE: This is entirely separate from the 'shatter' system - don't choose the "Repair shattered gear" option from the NPC, even though it sounds like it should repair your worn out gear, it won't.
