Below is some basic help on how to create a new wiki page.

Creating a New Page

To start a new page like this one just type in the title name of the page that you want to create into the search field on the left side of this page. If your chosen page title has already been taken then the search will show a found link with that name.

If there is no page by your chosen title the search may still have multiple links that are as close as it could come to matching your request.

Just below the search page title, "Search results" is the next line on the page similar to the one below. If, for example, you searched on "Article Name" you'd get:

If your search shows the link after "You searched for" with a red question mark, that means that the article doesn't exist. You can then click on that link to create that page.

Alternately, you can just put your article name after the URL "http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/", go to that page, and then you can create the article by clicking "edit this page".

This game, PW (Perfect World) is great fun but so many things are left for us to figure out by trial and error. However, by creating new wiki pages you can help out your fellow Perfect World International players by providing them useful information.

When you do make your page it is a good idea to use the "Show preview" button while working on it. This will allow you to see if the page came out the way you intended before you actually save the page.

Links to Other Wiki Help Pages

Here is the first Best PWI Wiki help Link that you have probably already found: Sample Guide
Among other things it shows you how to make the title header, a page line, and a time stamp signature.
There is also the Templates page, which includes templates for images, references, and various info markers.
The Imagebox Template will show you how to make your images fit this wiki's page style.

Wiki Markup Help Page This page shows some basic wiki techniques.
Help:Using colours This page shows how to use color styles
List of Colors This shows you many colors with there names and codes.

How to Examples

Leave a blank line between your lines of text to separate your text sections. Otherwise it will look like this even though you entered the text on two separate lines.

You can also use "<br>" for a linebreak.
This was actually written as one line using such a linebreak. (You can click "Edit" above to see the source for this section.)

To make a thin divider line type ---- on one line by itself. Use these sparingly so as not to make your pages look to busy, kind of like what this section is starting to look like.

To make a Header Bar just type two equal (=) signs around your Header title text like this "== Header Title ==" on a line by itself and there's your new:

Header Bar (Please Use Proper Title Capitalization)

If you use "===" instead of "==" it will make that a subsection, instead of a new main section, for example:

This is a Subsection Bar

Linking to Other Pages

Internal Links
Internal links are hyperlinks that are on the same website as in this PWI Wiki.
When you want to link to another PWI Wiki article page just type double brackets around the page title of the page you want to your link to go to, like this:
Main Page
Written this way the link shows as normal text, unless you set your preferences to show links underlined or colored (highly recommended), but can be clicked on to take you to the page named in the brackets.
As in this link to the PWI Wiki "Main Page" of this website; Main Page

You can also have links to other article pages displayed as text other than the article name by using a pipe character, "|" in the link. For example, "A link to the article on templates" is displayed as "A link to the article on templates". Clicking on the text "the article on templates" will take you to the Templates article in this wiki.

Here's another link: My Friendly Wiki Page Link. This link however does not go to any page because that page does not exist until someone creates a page with that title. If you click on that link it will try to make a page with the title "My Friendly Wiki Page Link". (Please don't make that page you'll ruin the example.)
This can however be a shortcut way to create a page or sub-page of the one you are working on.

External Links
If you have to create a link that is outside the website your Wiki is on (the PWI Wiki) then you will have to use a single bracket instead of a double bracket and use that website page's hyperlink address instead of an article's page name.
So in a simple form, a link to the Wikipedia's, "Help:Wiki markup" page would be written like this:
Wiki Markup Help Page
and shown as: Wiki Markup Help Page

Image & File Uploads

Click the "Upload file" link in the Toolbox links on the left of every page to get to a page that has information and a form that is used to upload any images that you wish to use in your article. Please first check for available images that are already in the system that can be used so you don't upload a duplicate.

The Imagebox Template can be used to display images in various ways that conform to the style of this wiki.

Text Formating

There a number of ways to format text but I will give you some basic information. It is important that you try to use standard formatting and use some formatting like color sparingly to avoid making the work look to busy.

Italic text <---- To get this Type this ----> Italic text
It is hard to see but you use two single apostrophes, ( ' ) before and after the target text.

Bold text <---- To get this Type this ----> Bold text
As in the italic text above but use three apostrophes, ( ' ) before and after the target text.

Using Colored text

From the Wiki Help:Using colours pages:
To make a word have color, use: <span style="color:ColorID">text</span>
Replacing "ColorID" above with the color's "Hex number", "Triplet" or the "Color's Name"

Examples:

<span style="color:red">red writing</span> shows as: red writing

<span style="color:#0f0">green writing</span> shows as: green writing

<span style="color:#0000f1">blue writing</span> shows as: blue writing

To color an internal page link as in the "Templates" link from above:
Typing this: <span style="color:#318CE7;">Templates</span> Will show as: Templates

Concluding Statement of the Basics

I hope this has been helpful.
If you have gone this far and want to learn and do more I suggest that you get an account on the Wikipedia website and use the "Sandbox" to try out your wiki code writing skills. The Sandbox is an isolated part of the website where any mistakes that you make will not effect the rest of another article page but it will still show you how your work looks when displayed as a wiki page.
