Heavy Build Venomancer
This guide explains stats and common gears of a Venomancer wishing to roll in heavy armor.
- NOTE: A lot of things said in this guide may just be an opinion.
Most venos you see that are heavy armor are usually level 90+, the reason being is it's just not worth the money or time to wear heavy armor before 90. Heavy is probably one of the most expensive builds to obtain.
I'm going to list some gears and ways to get the stat points needed at 90 to wear TT90 heavy armor and a HH90 weapon. If you are, say 95+, then you can get away without having so much stat gear but lower 90s will need as much as they can get. This may seem like a very low HP build because your spreading thin on stats, but it's not. The refines on heavy actually make it one of the highest HP builds.
Reasons to go Heavy Armor
Pros:
Good defense
High HP
High survivability overall
Ability to tank melee classes
Phoenix still kills off magic classes quickly and efficiently
Cons:
Semi-low magic defense compared to robe users(assuming magic adorns aren't refined)
Lower magic attack than a full int venomancer, still kills just as well
Stats can be hard to obtain(if you're low 9x)
Expensive to go especially if you already have TT90 gear for another build
Basic Build
The best way to roll as a heavy veno would be to go:
- 2 pieces of heavy armor
- 2 pieces of robe armor
- 1 magic defense adorn
- 1 physical defense adorn
- 2 magic rings, refined to give magic defense.
This combination gives the best overall defenses a veno can get without heavily refining adorns and rings. Your average defenses are around 5k physical and 5k magical with low refined adorns and rings, which is much higher than light armor, and a huge advantage over robes unless you plan on highly refining physical adorns.
Tips on Getting the Needed Stat Points:
At level 90 you have 445 stat points, the stats you need to obtain are 227 strength, 49 dexterity, and 270 magic. That's 101 stat points short.
Now let's see how we are going to get all these stats for you..
One thing every heavy venomancer needs is the TT90 gold cape,
which gets 27 of the stat points needed out of the way.
Another nice thing to obtain for stat points is a tome, you can get one by using mystical tome fragments and mystical tome pages from the cash shop to make a blessing that gives you extra stats.
This is just the one that I have but there is many others you can choose from, they are equipped in the blessing spot and also feed your pets like the Christmas blessing.
This belt is another good way of getting your stats, though I wouldn't advise using this belt as it can't be refined, but it helps a lot. Only use it if you are going to be using a magic defense necklace with it or the mages might eat you alive.
The Mogwai belt is a quest reward from the level 87 quest inside of Cave of Sadistic Glee, it's obtained after completing a long chain quest. It can give another 15-18 stat points.
That leaves around 50 more stat points to get depending on the tome you have.
Other ways to get the remaining stats needed:
- Your magic rings, they should both have at least 10 stat points in either magic/dex/str. on them.
- Your necklace should also give stat points, assuming you are using the Mogwai belt for stats you should have a magic necklace that gives at least 5 stats, depending how lucky you are finding one.
- Restating your vitality down to 3 gives you another 2 stats.
- The weapon you SHOULD be going for is the TT90 Wraith Conqueror magic sword, but if there is no possible way you can get the stats to equip all your gear you can settle for the level 89 molder. The molder isn't that bad actually, its good for a low 90 veno wearing heavy as it only requires 267 magic instead of 270 which is 3 less stats you need. It also gives 11 dexterity which can be restated out.
Now if you followed everything I stated here you should have the stats and maybe more then you need to wear your armor and weapon.
