Success rates

This article needs a list of success rates without using Dragon Orbs. -- Sangodoc (talk) 20:24, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

My experience: 100% to get from 0-1, 0% to get from 1 to 2, gave up and used a dragon orb.  :) --Vitenka 08:08, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

The information on Chienkun Stone refining rates is taken straight from the game currently, but I think those may be cumulative rates, rather than individual rates like the rest of the table. This information needs to be verified somehow. -- Sangodoc (talk) 04:31, 9 June 2010 (UTC)

Those last two tables, as well as duplicating the information in the first table in a harder to read format, don't seem to make any sense. They seem to say that to craft a level9 dragon orb you need to already have a level9 dragon orb. I don't understand them at all, and suggest that they either need fixing or removing. What do they add beyond the first table? --Vitenka 16:48, 15 January 2011 (UTC)

Simple simulation gives surprisingly good odds of getting even to +5 - 20% chance that 100 attempts is enough. Nearly a 70% chance of +4. Now, admittedly, 100 attempts is a lot - but what with fairy boxes driving down the cost of mirages, it may be worth going for now. --Vitenka 19:44, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Ok, here's some numbers. All done at Archosaur elder, in succession.
Archangel wrap:
0->1 19 tries, 9 success.
1->2 9 tries, 3 success
2->3 3 tries, 1 success
3->4 2 tries, 1 success

Archangel sleeves
0->1 3 tries, 2 success.
1->2 2 tries, 2 success.
2->3 3 tries, 1 success.
3->4 1 try, 1 success.

Boots of Soul Reaper
3->4 1 try, 1 success.

Anger of the Beast Soul (and my anger burns brightly indeed)
0->1 205 tries, 107 success.
1->2 107 tries, 34 success.
2->3 34 tries, 8 success.
3->4 7 tries, 0 success.

Those numbers above are way too small for statistical significance, other than for the 0->1 and 1->2 cases. Furthermore, people on the forums have both already done the math to statistically significant numbers and also taken a look at the source code, which confirmed that math (see the "Refining Without Dragon Orbs" section of the article for odds), so this kind of data is pretty much unnecessary. Also, please don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes ("~"). I added a signature to your comment above. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 15:06, 20 March 2012 (PDT)
I know both these things; but adding more data is never a bad thing for confirming things haven't changed recently. Vitenka
