In Perfect World International weapons, armor, and accessories can be created by the players. These manufacturing skills or professions are called Apothecary, Blacksmith, Armorsmith, and Craftsman.

Upon reaching level 5 these trade skills become available. Simply speak with the Elder of your city and he will assist you.

Apothecary: Able to manufacture all kinds of remedies and charms.

Blacksmith: Able to manufacture all kinds of weapons including blades, swords, axes, hammers, bows, and more.

Jewelcraftsman: Able to manufacture all kinds of accessories including necklaces, belts and rings.

This is crafting 'Ornaments'; for creating gems see: Jewel Crafting

Tailoring: Able to manufacture all kinds of armor and defensive equipment.


Manufacturing

To advance in your manufacturing skills, please visit the corresponding NPC of that profession. As you advance in rank you will need to complete additional quests or acquire books.

As you level up your trade skill you will need to create items of your grade. So if you are level 2 you will need to craft level 2 items in order to advance.

Higher level skill grades require that you attain a certain level before advancing to them.

Required Item for Mining and Harvesting

  • Pickaxe = buy from merchant for 2000 coins


Materials and Herbs

  • Low Grade = there are 2 levels classified as low grade, level 1 can be mined or harvested by any level while level 2 can be mined or harvested by any level from level 20
  • Mid Grade = level 3, can be mined or harvested by any level from level 40
  • High Grade = level 4, can be mined or harvested by any level from level 60
  • Special Grade = level 5, can be mined or harvested by any level from level 80 (only available in Momaganon and Lothranis, so technically only level 89+ can harvest/mine special grade materials and herbs.

  1. Animal Fur - Lowest grade leather for producing equipment.
  2. Rough Fur - Low grade leather for producing equipment.
  3. Leather - Mid-grade leather for producing equipment.
  4. Reinforced Leather - High grade leather for producing equipment.
  5. Superior Leather - A special leather for producing equipment.


How to Manufacture

  1. Seek the appropriate NPC (i.e. Blacksmith, Tailor, Apothecary, and Craftsman) in any town. Smaller towns will not have all the manufacturing NPCs.
  2. Select Manufacture Equipment or Remedy Manufacturing
  3. Depending on the Production Skill level, select the equipment to be manufactured
  4. Click Start to begin manufacturing. The start button is enabled if all the necessary materials are present. Otherwise, the start button is disabled.


How to Increase the Mastery Level

Manufacturing equipments or restorative powders increase the mastery level. However, this only works when the current production skill level and the level of equipments or powders are the same.

For example:

  1. If the current Production skill level is 3, only by manufacturing level 3 equipments/powders will increase the mastery level.
  2. If the current Production skill level is 6, manufacturing level 1-5 equipments/powders will not increase the mastery level.


Blacksmith

Level 1

Requisite Level: 5

  1. System message appears upon reaching player level 5 to talk to the Elder (depends on the race)
  2. Talk to the Elder of your race
  3. Talk to the Blacksmith (depends on the race)
  4. Collect 2 Pig Iron by mining Iron Mine
  5. Return to the Blacksmith with 2 Pig Iron to get the "Basic Blacksmith" skill
  6. Talk to the Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill" for free (no coin required)


Level 2

  1. Manufacture 10 level 1 weapons until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
  2. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  3. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 2 Blacksmith


Level 3

  1. Manufacture 10 level 2 weapons until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
  2. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  3. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 3 Blacksmith


Level 4

Requisite Level: 50

Requisite Production Level: 3 with 100% mastery value

  1. Upon reaching player level 50 with level 3 blacksmith skill, a system message appears to talk to the Elder of Archosaur (571 648)
  2. Talk to the Elder of Archosaur (571 648)
  3. Talk to Blacksmith (563 682)
  4. Manufacture the following 2 stars weapons:
    1. Sawtooth Blades = Purified Oil (12), Yellow Jade (3), Copper Bar (3)
    2. Ornamented Bow = Rough Fur (12), Yellow Jade (3), Copper Bar (3)
    3. Heretic Banishing Pataka = Silk Threads (13), Yellow Jade (3), Copper Bar (3)
  5. Return to the Blacksmith (563 682) with the above weapons and 10 refined steels to obtain the Apprentice Blacksmith skill book
  6. If necessary, manufacture level 3 weapons until mastery value reaches 100% (yellow bar)
  7. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  8. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 4 Blacksmith

Copper Bar = High-Carbon Steel (2), Concentrated Glue (2), Rough Fur (2)


Level 5

  1. Manufacture level 4 weapons until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
  2. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  3. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 5 Blacksmith

Requisite Production Skill Level: 5 with 100% mastery value

  1. Upon reaching player level 80 with level 5 blacksmith skill, a system message appears to talk to the Elder of Archosaur (571 648)
  2. Talk to the Elder of Archosaur (571 648)
  3. Talk to the Blacksmith Fei (133 750) @ Immolation Camp
  4. Manufacture the following 2 stars weapons:
    1. Ear-Splitting Hammer = Corundum (6), Broken Cyan Jade (3), Mythril Bar (3)
    2. Phoenix Wing Mace = Corundum (6), Broken Cyan Jade (3), Mythril Bar (3)
    3. Instakill Claws = Glaze (11), Broken Cyan Jade (3), Mythril Bar (3)
  5. Return to the Blacksmith Fei (133 750) @ Immolation Camp with the above weapons to continue with the quest
  6. Manufacture the following 2 stars weapons:

    2. Exorsisor's Pataka = Azureworm Silk (11), Broken Cyan Jade (3), Mythril Bar (3)
  7. Talk to the Fang Fan (125 731) with the above weapons to obtain the Intermediate Blacksmith skill book
  8. If necessary, manufacture level 5 weapons until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
  9. Talk to the Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  10. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 6 Blacksmith

  3. Talk to Herb Gardener aka Huajen (618 389) @ Dreamweaver Outskirts (watch out for high level mobs near him)
  4. Buy the Level 4 Apothecary Mastery book from him for 52,500 coins
  5. If necessary, manufacture level 3 powders until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
  6. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  7. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 4 Apothecary


Level 5

  1. Manufacture level 4 powders until the manufacturing skill bar reaches 100%
  2. Talk to any Elder to "Learn Manufacturing Skill"
  3. Pay the required coins and spirit to learn level 5 Apothecary


Level 6

Note: Level 5 Special Herbs are only available in locations that can be entered by level 89 and above. So unless the player buys these special herbs from another players, Level 6 Apothecary cannot be learned until level 89+

There are 6 Apothecary Items that are not made from Normal Apothecary NPCs They require level 6 Apothecary to make and and only be made if you own a specific territory.

Good Places To Farm Mats

This Part of this article is about a few good places to mine level 1 and level 2 mats:

Follow the Red line And 1 of Farming and you should have between 100k-200k worth of mats

Follow the black line around and you may get about 25-30 herbs each run, with some High-Carbon Steel and Rough Lumber and a fair amount of Gravel and Coal. The red circled zone has a lot of herbs in it but there is a world boss there and a lot of level 40s.
