PvP? PvE? What are they?

"Player versus Player" and "Player versus Environment" respectively.

The Perfect World servers are divided between these two types, and there is only one small difference between them:

On a PvE server, you have the option, at level 30 or higher, of going 'white named' and thus being able to kill, and be killed by, other white (and red) named players.

On a PvP server you have no choice. You will go white named once you hit level 30.

This has some serious knock on effects. The largest one is that there's no level restriction on PvP in this game - any time you are outside of a safe zone (that is, outside of town or most dungeons) you are fair game for anyone, or indeed any group, to swoop down and kill you.

And equally, you can do the same.
