Money

Money-- It's a universal thing everybody understands. Now, you COULD go onto youtube and get a bunch of hacks and cheats that are all probably out of date, and will definitely get you banned, or you can harass people to lend you the moolah, and get labeled as annoying.

But, as someone wise once said, "An honesty day's work for an honest day's pay." If you don't want to be annoying, (or worse, banned for being lazy,)READ ON!

An honest day's work...

You're probably saying something along the lines of "Aw god, she's going to make us grind..." WELL OF COURSE I AM! You wanna know WHY?

  • Grinding gives you exp.
  • Grinding gives you Spirit Points!
  • Grinding will help level your genie!
  • Grinding will help level pets, Venomancers!

Does that look good to you? Let's not mention, at the same time, you're making cash AND some good drops! If you need a new weapon, who knows, the mobs you're slamming might just give one to you! You could find by some magical force of God a piece of armor with a decent amount of sockets AND stats! Heck, monsters will even drop shards if you're lucky enough!

But thankfully, Arimis and I did all the work FOR you, and put this guide on the wiki. >.> Don't be so lazy.

Dragon Quest Items (DQ)

These are without a doubt the biggest money grabbers in game. Things that would really wouldn't even take a glance at, like Claws, Mystical Blood, and the like are some of the things PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR! (Scary huh?!) Some people are super rich and don't want to grind for those items. Hey, let it be their loss, and YOUR profit!

Now, I've been using this website below for an accurate and very reliable list of DQ dropped items. You can even input for regular drop items, and see what the percentages are for those drops! Use it wisely people, it's a XxMaleVenoxX secret!

Walk, Run, Fly, Swim

I know what you're thinking, right? "I already DO that... and if I don't... it's SLOW."

Do you WANT to earn money or not? Heck, if you save up enough you can BUY a mount or a good pair of wings, so the walking and running and swimming won't be a problem, will it? I didn't think so.

Guys, let's use an example from the forums that Amiris used: The teleport from Sumor Camp to the Swiftwind Tribe...is 5000 coins! That's some cash you could put down for a Windsprint Panther, people. That's some of your dough going from that nice set of armor you want. Don't teleport if you can help it!

  • Quick tips from Amiris--

From the City of the Lost to the Wellspring Village only costs 200 coins, and from there it's a short, two minute fly to Archosaur. USE IT! That's 2.8k that could go in your bank!

Teleport between the main cities people....it's only 1k, sure, and that's cash going from the bank, but come on...that's too far for even the best pair of wings.

  • !!!!Free Teleport!!!!

I know, right?! If you're level 40 or higher, you can actually get a free teleport to Archosaur; it's easy!

First, go to the Adventure Assistant and Khatru Pup. Enter the Cube of Fate, and talk to the Exit Manager. It sends you RIGHT to Archosaur!

Sell some stuff!

Not just to NPCs, to PLAYERS! If you're grinding, and you get equipment with decent stats, it's time to put it up for grabs. However, you have to be careful about this.

  • Medium-Medium Items

Stuff that is pretty good. Usually has two stars and a couple of good stats for it's class. (No, a mage weapon with accuracy is NOT ONE OF THEM!) You should open up a Catshop for them, or try the Trade Chat in Archosaur, although you're less likely to get a good buy if you try the second option.

  • Amazingly awesome things

Stuff people would kill for, like Boutique items, (fashions, mounts, etc.) should always be sold in the Auctioneer. What better way to maximize your cash input than have people squabble and trample over one another? Either way, it's a win/win situation, since people will rarely go for a good item that's worth a million skillion coins in a catshop. (Remember that after 24 hours the item is sold to the highest bidder!)

THE DEFINITION OF A GOOD ITEM--> Any item with two or more stars, and the item name is blue.

  • TWILIGHT TEMPLE:

Twilight Temple is GOOD for all those nice, really scary-looking armors and weapons that you see that you can't find in any of the shops. It's ALSO good for selling items to people who want to make those scary-looking armors and weapons! If you get some drops from bosses, it's time to open up the Catshop near the Forge in Archosaur. Chances are, you'll swim in cash for your hard work.

Farm

"But... I am not a farmer!"

WELL START BEING ONE! You want that money, don't you?! Materials sell pretty well, and lazy people will definitely pay you what it's worth, ESPECIALLY those with the tailoring and crafting skills. Tailors and Crafters live for people to give them trinkets they pick up. It's less work they have to do. It's more money you get. Even if you don't sell those materials to a player, you can always stuff them in the Auctioneer, or sell them to an NPC. High level mats will certainly give you a decent amount of moolah if you can gather them.

Helping Hand

People will PAY you for helping them. I know that's like, not a nice thing to ask, but you can do this, ESPECIALLY if you are a TANK, HEALER, or PULLER. (I'm not going to be class-specific, because even psychics, a mage class, can tank.) People LOVE Tanks, Healers, and Pullers, because every Bounty Hunter and Twilight Temple (and Dungeon FB) will need them in a party. Let's face it, unless you have a class that can solo it scary well, you're going to need at least ONE person with a healing ability.

Clerics, Venomancers, and Barbarians, you're in heaven at this point. Squads love you more than anything on this earth. Wizards, Archers, Blademasters, Assassins, and Psychics... not so much. Sure, Wizards have a full heal ability and Psychics have a Bubble of Life AoE, but let's face it, Clerics are the healing class for a reason. That's their specialty. Yeah, Archers, you can critical hit the crap out of things, but you tend to be squishy. Assassins and Blademasters always get shown up by a Barbarian, because they don't nuke damage like they do.

Is it fair? I guess that's your call. Really, helping people depends on what build you are, your armor and equipment, your skill levels, and what class you are.

FBS ARE NOT GOOD FOR MONEY!

Grinding, yes, money no. The drops you get from FB mobs suck, any way you slice it. If you're REALLY lucky, you'll get a mold, but what are the chances of that? Your best bet is to lay off the FBs and save them for grinding.

Other Tips and Tricks

  • Pretty Pretty...

Don't buy things because they glow, or they look pretty. If you REALLY want a Boutique item, go for it, although they don't do anything and they just look nice. Don't buy crappy armor or weapons because they glow.

Do you want your items to glow?! Imbue shards in them, people. You'll get better equipment...and you won't waste your money on useless junk.

  • NPC ITEMS SUCK

Don't buy them! They have no additional status effects! You're better off waiting for a drop with something decent from a monster than instant gratification via the NPCs. Not to mention, the stuff is overpriced. You want new gear? Go grind.

  • Good Skills are your friend

Guys, don't waste your money on passive skills...unless you need them! If you're going to learn a new skill, ask yourself.

"WILL I USE THIS SKILL?" "DOES THIS SKILL SUIT MY BATTLE STYLE?" "IS THIS SKILL RISKY FOR ME?"

  • Teleacoustics

Don't waste a good tele on a question that could be asked in the forums...that's not very smart.
