Advice for quests: do it in your time. If its timed, do it with a buddy. People with quests are shown orange on mini map. If you find a monster you need to kill, do it, just kill it.

Advice for factions: I'm director of a faction and I invite people to train them personally (by the way PM me in game if you need personal training). To join a faction, ask and you usually are in, but sometimes that doesn't work, so just impress people.
