To use this template, put the following next to the item you want to footnote:

{{Ref|1|1}}

Then, where you want the footnote to appear, put the following:

:1.{{Note|1}}Note text.

Replace the "1" with the appropriate footnote number.

So the following example:

This{{Ref|1|1}} may sometimes be a problem.{{Ref|2|2}}
 :1.{{Note|1}}The flying wombats.
 :2.{{Note|2}}Estimated to be around 5% of the time.

Appears like this:

This may sometimes be a problem. 1.^ The flying wombats. 2.^ Estimated to be around 5% of the time.

The footnote links are clickable, and will take you directly to the footnote or its source.
