Eatwithspoons Discussions
I would like to see the name of the Page Dungeons changed to Dungeons and Places. This change would better reflect the places like Old Heavens Tear, Lothranis, Momaganon and Morai or add a Perfect World Places page could be added but this seems redundant. <BR>

oh for those talk pages you can straight edit the page and delete the comment, as long as it's spam no worries --Eatwithspoons 22:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

I took care of it thanks. Also, I think you suggested addons? We're working on getting a few added in for us real soon --Eatwithspoons 19:47, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Alright I took care of it, thanks a bunch! Hopefully one of our addons that we plan to implement will help with this kind of thing. --Eatwithspoons 00:42, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

I've put in a request for this so right now I'm waiting to see when it will be implemented. --Eatwithspoons 22:46, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

I have returned the Human 1-19 quests to its normal state. --Ctrlotus 03:19, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
:Not a problem! I thought i would improve the wiki, actually. It would make transfering from other, non-pwe game wikis easier, because i haven't seen a single wiki besides PWE's use this format. EDIT: What improvements would you suggest for me to make the quest section less of a WoT? --Ctrlotus 03:38, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
::For some things, such as the quests, you could try "click to show" boxes. That would shorten the text walls, and allow for aditional info on things, like what type spell to use, or warn of exceptionally hard mobs to kill for that level. A good example of this would be the Elemental Tapestry, lever 36 if I remember correctly--Ctrlotus 05:50, 10 July 2010 (UTC)

Article links
You said to use links to other articles in the format "Article Name" or "text you want to appear", and not "Name" But isn't http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Talk_page and http://www.pwdatabase.com/mob/1379 outside links? I'm not sure where I used that since you apparently removed it before I could make any corrections. Is there any reason why I can not link to those pages. The reason I wrote this is I could not seem to find any information about or links to the User and User Talk pages. These methods where not known to me and I can see why some people would be lost trying to figure how the simplest in the WIKI system works. I found many elaborate and extensive formatting methods but it has been years since I have done any programming at all. Your really quick on the draw with new input.

:I understand about the difference between an external link and an internal link. In the case of the cloud skatefish I wanted to identify that it was a link, as it is now you can not tell easily that the word is a link and so not many will follow to view the detailed information. Do you have a standard way that the link can be identified when using double brackets for an internal link?

:And is there a template page for the pet detail page?

:Also I think that the "Pet Skills" page and "Ultimate Pet List" page should be merged. How do I request this and what is the process for doing it? I'm sure that I should not just do the merge myself or can I?

Wiki Style
The current color scheme of the wiki looks like piss over shit and is hard to read.  Are you able to update the style to match the forum and make it so the links are differentiated from the text?  Asterelle 18:16, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

PWI Wiki - Guilds
Well then why don't you actually do your job?

65% of you heaven's tears guilds listed, ARE NOT IN EXISTANCE any more.

25% are out dated - different leaders or website gone.
Adding a caption to imagebox
the remaining 10% are factions that are not on Heavens Tear.
How do you add captions to pictures using the imagebox tag?

Calorien 07:49, 27 February 2012 (PST)
Besides, what is the purpose of having a number for a link?
:Usage is explained at the Template:Imagebox page.  Quick examples of all of the templates, plus a link to their full example can be found on the Templates page.

:Also, if you're working on pets, you might want to check out the Monster and Pet Bio Example page.  Thanks! -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 09:02, 27 February 2012 (PST)
Why not just show the whole link?

Do you think you are impressing us? You aren't. -- Kyrrel 21:59, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

:First of all, it is not my job to keep track of every faction that is listed on those pages on every server.  I don't know where you got the impression that that was my job, but that is false.
:Second of all, if you have evidence that those factions are not in existence, changed leaders, or are listed incorrectly, anyone can update them.  As a side note, I would rather have a nonexistent faction be listed, than accidentally remove an existing faction that has merely downsized or changed websites.
:Third, your first four points have nothing to do with what I wrote to you earlier.  You didn't do anything about those problems either, when it is fully within your power to do so.  Furthermore, I did not create those lists, nor do I maintain them in any other way that making sure that they follow a common format and that they are not vandalized.
:Fourth, I didn't say that you couldn't show the whole link, I just said that I wanted the Guild Directory pages done in a standard way.  Your edit where you unnecessarily added "Server:" to every listing was prior to your removing the brackets around the links, so that's why it and all following revisions got undone.  If you think we should change it that way, then, as I stated earlier, I'm open to hearing your reasons why, I just don't see the difference.  You say, "Why not?", but I asked "Why?" first.  If your reason sounds good, then all Guild Directories should be changed the same way, and not just one of them.
:Finally, there is no need to be insulting.  It doesn't make what you say any more valid.  If you have constructive criticism I'm more than happy to listen to that, but I won't waste my time listening to empty insults.  -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 22:36, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Mob/Pet Bio Pages
Thanks for making the corrections separating the mob stats from the pet stats. I realized this after uploading the page but was unsure about which stats belonged to the pre-pet state of the creature. After making some adjustments I will use your input as a reference in making the other pages.

Also, I would like to add the creature bio page as a template once I have the format a little more settled. I would like your input about his since it would be used as a standard bio page.

Also, I agree that a better way is needed in identifying text links and wondered if using a colored caret symbol after the text<br>
Such as: Cloud Skatefish<span style="color:#318CE7">^</span> <br>
as a text link indicator would be better than coloring the whole text?

Well I just couldn't wait so I made "Template Pages" as an index page and a template page: "Monster and Pet Bio Template". I also changed the Cloud Skatefish bio page using the info that you provided. I hope this is satisfactory. <br>

In response to your corrections and input to my recent work:
<br><br>
I think this is where I should make my replies??
<br><br>
Oh, SORRY about deleting my previous discussion on your talk page I didn't think about it until after. My Bad!
<br><br>
Ok, I screwed up making the Template page. <br>I look all over for information about how to make a template page but did not find the information that you gave me, just example pages. If I did see one it was not explained so I knew what it was and how to use it. I see how this would be the perfect way to protect the original Template. Would a template page be locked?
So how would one go about using my template with such extensive information to input? How would the Monster and Pet Bio Template page work, cut & paste? It's not like a form with fields, would someone input there values and a new page would be configured using those new values? Then would have to "save as" (the page that you want)?<br>
I guess that I could still use the Template Page index page as the link for these pages, right? <br>
How about an Example page, so someone like me doesn't input the wrong values like I did when I mixed the monster and pet stats? I'm trying to avoid some of these possible input errors.
<br><br>
About the Monster and Pet Bio page Magic Defense table: <br>
I added the "Non Elemental" column because some monsters do not have an elemental base so I guess the Magic Defense table would be left blank or have N/A in the table fields.
<br><br>
About the Link identifier:<br>
I am glad to here that you are working on the Link visibility problem. I'm not sure if I should continue to make pages until you have completed your methodology with this problem. OR will you be able to change all the page links to your new method with some wiki programming wizardry? Until I hear from you I will hold off on uploading any pages. How long do you expect before it is done?<br>
Just want to let you know your effort, patients and guidance is appreciated.

Pet page template
We seriously need to get a move on with these instances like Abbaddon and Seat of Torment...they've been stubbed since as long as I can remember. I'm going to try and ask my husband to go in and get some footage for me.
My intension when I started this was to create a TEMPLATE so there would not be 5 different versions of pet/monster Profiles. I appreciate all the work that you have done I know how time consuming it is and the added growth chart was an option I considered adding. The Cloud Skatefish and Glacial Walker profile style seems to look cleaner than some of the other ones which the pictures are out of sync with the text and there are big empty spaces on the page. I may clean them up but Most of the time I'd rather play the game. <BR>

OK we really need to standardize these Pet Bio Pages!!! <BR>
Please let me know if this is a good idea? <br>
<BR>
I looked at some of these pages and they are really rough, not easy on the eyes. I wanted to redo some of them but did not want to pizz others off, plus it is rather labor intensive project.
I finally cleaned up the Cloud Skatefish page and the Monster and Pet Bio Example page so that it looks good and doesn't run off the the screen. It is simple enough so it can used to make other Pet pages. <BR>
I added a basic pet level stats table that more levels can be easily added.<BR>
I did not like the other table because people looking at the table would not know what the column headings meant unless they were familiar with the terminology to begin with. It seemed like a lot of extra information. <BR>
I would like to see a template page that values could be put into that would build the page. I would make one if I knew how but that is administrator territory. <BR>

:What's your screen resolution?  The old format looked fine to me.
:I'll thank you to not remove the pet growth stats I went to a lot of trouble to include (and research.)
:Labor intensive?  Yeah, tell me about it.  Not just the page editing, but leveling pets to include growth stats.

I change the Cloud Skatefish page and you changed it back. I did this because the page goes off the screen on the sides and I could not correct this so that it looked right. The style is close to where it needs to be and still present the information in an orderly manner. I do think it needs to be fixed a little bit more. I did not add the Pet Stat information because is is a long drawn out process of acquiring every pet which I can not do. I di concider adding it to the bottom of what the page as an option. Maybe an add table for data input would work but most of the pet pages would have blank tables and I was not sure if that would be alright to do. <BR>
<BR>
You were going to make a Template for this, I would like to know the code used for templates in this Wiki please.  <BR>

Do you prefer Cloud Skatefish or Cruel Wolfling style pet pages? -- Calorien 14:58, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
:The Cloud Skatefish format is generally better, but the "Pet Stats" section from Cruel Wolfling is a nice addition.  Feel free to combine them a bit.  Also, please don't forget to sign your comments, as explained above.  Thanks. -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 13:09, 2 March 2012 (PST)
::Sorry about that.  I made a Glacial Walker page, how's that look?  A good synthesis of the two?--Calorien 08:25, 5 March 2012 (PST)
:::Not bad.  I put in the growth chart image, made some spacing fixes, and a few other minor changes, plus added some missing info.  Looks fine now.  Also, you don't need to add info on changes you make to pages on their talk pages like you've been doing for the Crafting page.  Just put the description of your changes down in the Summary line under the edit text box when editing a page, and then any changes you've made can be seen by checking the page's History easily enough.  Thanks. -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 16:17, 5 March 2012 (PST)

FB79 doors
Do you think Forest Wolfkin or Arachnoid Poisontail is a better treatment of the few cases where dungeon elites share pet stats with normal monsters? Calorien 05:33, 14 April 2012 (PDT)
:Honestly, both of them look fine.  However, if I had to pick one, I'd go with the Arachnoid Poisontail version because it's more consistent with the other pet pages and it's also more compact.  More compact means that it's easier to compare differences as well.  -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 01:22, 15 April 2012 (PDT)
<BR>

the section on the hallucinatory trench instance states that the doors that open are opened at random. I know this has been popularly the believed, however, for a while it was also believed that the fb39 doors were opened at random too.
Note to self
according to what I have seen in fbs/bhs there is a mob in the first room after the entrance room that wanders. there is also a room a little while after that hass 2 doors, one goes to stygean and one to hooli. killing the wandering mob in the first room opens the door to hooli whose kill in turn opens the door to stygean. avoiding the mob in the first room opens the door to stygean which in turn opens the door to hooli.
Check this edit again later to make sure it's legit. -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 18:29, 29 March 2012 (PDT)
:Not sure if you got to this or not yet, but I was trying to look for a link and noticed the note. I can confirm that the two sites are for the same guild. The original link was to their recruitment thread on the official PWI forums and the new link is to their actual forums. --Flyingsoloist 13:35, 18 July 2012 (PDT)

I will have to confirm this later but it may also be that killing the mob in the room before stygean opens the way past loon and avoiding him leave the shorter way open to the large center room on the way to linus/brig. or possible the other way around.

I think this could use some testing. I will do what I can as I get into squads but without a decent sampling it could just be chance that it works this way. --Swalsh 18:20, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Ctstew 20:28, 23 November 2012 (UTC)<BR>
:Yeah, I'm not fond of the new CSS style either.  If you prefer the old main page you can access it from Main Page (Original Style).  I had to fix a ton of pages because they screwed up the table formatting, and there are still a bunch more left to be fixed too.  Worse yet, they broke the image directory's permissions, so you can't upload new images to the wiki currently.  I really need to talk to Frankieraye about this, but I'm kind of tired of being ignored. -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 19:47, 23 November 2012 (PST)

:I'm pretty sure this isn't the case, since sometimes squads ask a sin to stealth and go look whether or not the Styg door is open.  It would be easy enough to test though - have the sin stealth in and then kill everything and have the sin watch to see which kill opens the door.  --Vitenka 13:14, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Answer to the Unknown buff
Status Icon Reference Guide
Buff Icon "Unk_buff_27.png"
i was wondering you would be able to add a link to that page from the main page
Is an ordinary Bramble Guard skill status from Venomancers...
its almost complete, and i made a list of the skills icons it missing.
‎
Buff Icon "Unk_buff_62.png"
Is actually Oxygen Bubble Genie skill status icon, found from ecatomb.net.

i also think it should be ordered in a different fashion than alphabetically and more of what the buffs actually do
I wish I knew how to edit the wiki page.
like having movement debuffs, resistance changes, attack damage speed and channeling increase, as well as decreases grouped
The link to the wiki page is the following:
--Furryfury 19:55, 20 February 2011 (PST)

:There's already a plan in the works to get the Status Icon Reference Guide put onto the main page.  If you'd like to take a look, I'm working on a new front page for the wiki here: Main Page/sandbox. That will probably go up shortly after Genesis is released. If you have any suggestions for it, please let me know.
http://pwi-wiki.perfectworld.com/index.php/Buff_Reference_Guide
:Next, the reason why the icons are grouped alphabetically is so that if someone knows the name of the icon (by hovering their mouse over it), it will be easier to find.  Any other grouping I can think of would be arbitrary and difficult to search on, not to mention that some icons would fit into multiple categories of the ones you named.
:Finally, I do have the rest of the missing icons (though Genesis will probably add some new ones) and some other missing information, I just haven't gotten around to putting that up yet.  I'll try to get that done soon.
:If there's anything else, please let me know.  Thanks! -- <span style="color:#CCCCFF;font-weight:bold;">Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod</span> <span style="color:#9999CC;font-weight:bold;">(talk)</span> 22:40, 20 February 2011 (PST)

:Actually, "Unk_buff_27.png" isn't the status icon for Bramble Guard, this is.  You're confusing the skill icon, the button you click to activate the skill, for the status icon, the icon that appears next to your name when you have that buff.  Also, last time I checked, "Unk_buff_62.png" isn't the status icon for Oxygen Bubble, this is, which actually does match its skill icon. Information for the wiki you'd like added[edit]

If there's anything you'd like my help adding to the wiki, either add a short description of it to this section, or, if it might require some discussion, use the "+" link at the top to create a new section for it. Please link to any information needed to create the section you want added, as that will make it much easier for me to add. Finally, please sign your comment by putting a "~~~~" at the end of your comment. Thanks! -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 01:26, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

I would like to see the name of the Page Dungeons changed to Dungeons and Places. This change would better reflect the places like Old Heavens Tear, Lothranis, Momaganon and Morai or add a Perfect World Places page could be added but this seems redundant.

Adding a caption to imagebox[edit]

How do you add captions to pictures using the imagebox tag? Calorien 07:49, 27 February 2012 (PST)

Usage is explained at the Template:Imagebox page. Quick examples of all of the templates, plus a link to their full example can be found on the Templates page.
Also, if you're working on pets, you might want to check out the Monster and Pet Bio Example page. Thanks! -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 09:02, 27 February 2012 (PST)

Pet page template[edit]

My intension when I started this was to create a TEMPLATE so there would not be 5 different versions of pet/monster Profiles. I appreciate all the work that you have done I know how time consuming it is and the added growth chart was an option I considered adding. The Cloud Skatefish and Glacial Walker profile style seems to look cleaner than some of the other ones which the pictures are out of sync with the text and there are big empty spaces on the page. I may clean them up but Most of the time I'd rather play the game.

OK we really need to standardize these Pet Bio Pages!!!
Please let me know if this is a good idea?

I looked at some of these pages and they are really rough, not easy on the eyes. I wanted to redo some of them but did not want to pizz others off, plus it is rather labor intensive project. I finally cleaned up the Cloud Skatefish page and the Monster and Pet Bio Example page so that it looks good and doesn't run off the the screen. It is simple enough so it can used to make other Pet pages.
I added a basic pet level stats table that more levels can be easily added.
I did not like the other table because people looking at the table would not know what the column headings meant unless they were familiar with the terminology to begin with. It seemed like a lot of extra information.
I would like to see a template page that values could be put into that would build the page. I would make one if I knew how but that is administrator territory.

What's your screen resolution? The old format looked fine to me.
I'll thank you to not remove the pet growth stats I went to a lot of trouble to include (and research.)
Labor intensive? Yeah, tell me about it. Not just the page editing, but leveling pets to include growth stats.

Calorien 13:40, 9 July 2012 (PDT)

I change the Cloud Skatefish page and you changed it back. I did this because the page goes off the screen on the sides and I could not correct this so that it looked right. The style is close to where it needs to be and still present the information in an orderly manner. I do think it needs to be fixed a little bit more. I did not add the Pet Stat information because is is a long drawn out process of acquiring every pet which I can not do. I di concider adding it to the bottom of what the page as an option. Maybe an add table for data input would work but most of the pet pages would have blank tables and I was not sure if that would be alright to do.

You were going to make a Template for this, I would like to know the code used for templates in this Wiki please.

Do you prefer Cloud Skatefish or Cruel Wolfling style pet pages? -- Calorien 14:58, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

The Cloud Skatefish format is generally better, but the "Pet Stats" section from Cruel Wolfling is a nice addition. Feel free to combine them a bit. Also, please don't forget to sign your comments, as explained above. Thanks. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 13:09, 2 March 2012 (PST)
Sorry about that. I made a Glacial Walker page, how's that look? A good synthesis of the two?--Calorien 08:25, 5 March 2012 (PST)
Not bad. Thanks. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 16:17, 5 March 2012 (PST)

Do you think Forest Wolfkin or Arachnoid Poisontail is a better treatment of the few cases where dungeon elites share pet stats with normal monsters? Calorien 05:33, 14 April 2012 (PDT)

Honestly, both of them look fine. However, if I had to pick one, I'd go with the Arachnoid Poisontail version because it's more consistent with the other pet pages and it's also more compact. More compact means that it's easier to compare differences as well. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 01:22, 15 April 2012 (PDT)

Note to self[edit]

Check this edit again later to make sure it's legit. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 18:29, 29 March 2012 (PDT)

Not sure if you got to this or not yet, but I was trying to look for a link and noticed the note. I can confirm that the two sites are for the same guild. The original link was to their recruitment thread on the official PWI forums and the new link is to their actual forums. --Flyingsoloist 13:35, 18 July 2012 (PDT)

New Wiki Format[edit]

Ya this is the worse format for the Wiki, it is ugly and readability is POOR.
The previous version seemed better visually and more organized.
Ctstew 20:28, 23 November 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm not fond of the new CSS style either. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 19:47, 23 November 2012 (PST)
Frankieraye isn't the Community Manager for PWI anymore, it's v4liance now. For at least a month now. He's probably the person you need to talk to in order to get anything changed.
Ohmi 16:04, 24 November 2012 (PST)
Has the image upload been fixed yet? Calorien 09:22, 28 February 2013 (PST)
Nope, but I just talked to v4liance about this earlier this week, so hypothetically speaking, it should be looked at soon. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 10:02, 28 February 2013 (PST)

PACKS[edit]

Is it possible for you 2 put the prices of the token packs in the packs section. -- Raxipo 19:33, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Not to be rude, but anyone can put the prices up, including you. Feel free to add it yourself if you think it would help the article. This wiki depends on everyone adding to it to make it good. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 01:33, 12 December 2012 (PST)

Answer to the Unknown buff[edit]

Buff Icon "Unk_buff_27.png" Is an ordinary Bramble Guard skill status from Venomancers... ‎ Buff Icon "Unk_buff_62.png" Is actually Oxygen Bubble Genie skill status icon, found from ecatomb.net.

I wish I knew how to edit the wiki page. The link to the wiki page is the following:

Thanks and best of wishes. - Quacks 06:52, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Actually, "Unk_buff_27.png" File:Unk buff 27.png isn't the status icon for Bramble Guard, this is. You're confusing the skill icon, the button you click to activate the skill, for the status icon, the icon that appears next to your name when you have that buff. Also, last time I checked, "Unk_buff_62.png" File:Unk buff 62.png isn't the status icon for Oxygen Bubble, this File:Unk status ico 2.png is, which actually does match its skill icon. Are you sure about that one? I note that they're also both already listed on the Status Icon Reference Guide page.
