Welcome to the Crysil's Guide to Wizard's PvP! If you have come here for a reason, let me guess the reason.... Hmmm... Are you thinking of PvPing with your Wizard? Well, let me help you! This guide is to show what Wizards should and should not do during a PvP session, and also other things such as 'What do Sage/Demon paths do to help you with your skills?' If you're a beginner (I presume that you're level 30-50 to use this guide) you will find out what will come when you reach higher levels.

Introduction[edit]

So, you chose a Wizard for PvPing, correct? Well then, allow me to introduce you to what lies ahead. First off, you may or may not know, that we Wizards are 1st to dealing the most damage (not when we're at lower levels were not!). "But, I chose Wizards because we deal the most damage, but why do we lose to Archers?" Well, because of the Archer's range and high crits, they deal damage according to how far they're are! But there's a bad thing to Archers, which Archers deal 50% of their damage in close range! So whenever an Archer attacks you (and if they actually miss you with their stun skills) go close and you might win!

Skills you SHOULD always try to max[edit]

These skills are useful when you're PvPing. I recommend maxing them.

FIRE TREE

Divine Pyrogram

  • Fairly cheaper to max than Sandstorm, deals 300% of weapon damage, but lesser additional damage compared to Sandstorm (2994 damage to be exact). It's a fair skill, doesn't hurt to max it.

  • Sage effects- Sage gives a burning blessing, reduce your enemy fire resistance by 20% for 15 seconds! This makes killing Clerics ALOT easy (And yes, the 'Undine Strike' skill is better, but at least Divine Pyrogram still gives something!)
  • Demon effects- Reduces channeling time by .5 seconds (When I said this, its not 5 seconds, its .5 seconds). Not really useful in my opinion.

Note: You would probably stop using this skill when you get Sandstorm anyways, so don't maxed it if you want true PvP!

Other facts to know:

  • This skill is learned at level 19 and can be maxed at level 64.
  • Deals the same weapon damage (300%) as Sandstorm (when maxed).
  • This skill doesn't need chi.
  • Long casting, but work best with Essential Sutra or -channeling gears.

Will of the Phoenix

  • Reasons to max
    • Great damage
    • Good on melee fighters like Blademasters
    • Fast channeling
    • Its also good for PvE
    • MAX IT
  • Sage Effects- 1 second reduce cooldown (Used to be cooldown 8, now its 7)
  • Demon Effects- 50% more in range of Area of Effect (27 range Area of Effect)

Note: When you upgrade this skill to Sage/Demon, it does 5395 fire damage, a MASSIVE improvement in damage.

Other facts to know:

  • This skill, is mainly used to charge chi when melee fighters come near (It can also be a quick finisher in some cases)
  • Did I told you about MAXING IT?
  • Will help on level 80 PvE
  • 445 mana to cast on Sage/Demon upgrade
  • Your choice on maxing Sandstorm or Will of Phoenix first, either way, they cost the same coin and spirit (Cost 1348000 coin and 1006300 spirit for both to be maxed)
  • You can learn this skill when you done level 39 cultivation to Aware of Discord and you can max this skill when you're level 75.l

Blade Tempest

  • Like all Ultimates, this skill should be maxed. But way before the other 2. This skill can mostly 1 hit clerics and send them to their grave, and if Undine Striked debuff on Archers, they can 1 hit Archers too! This skill will be alot useful If you're planning to do Territory Wars, so max it up! (When you have the money & spirit ofcourse)

  • Sage effects- 50% to avoid paying 2 spark! Pay 1 for this ultimate skill!
  • Demon effects- 50% chance to interrupt opponent's channeling.

Note: Sage/Demon upgrade includes base damage to 6200.

  • This skill is learned at level 59 and can be maxed at level 86.
  • A hefty cost of 2 sparks is required to cast this skill.
  • One shot most Clerics & Psychics in some cases.
  • 4060000 coins 3013000 Spirit is required to max this skill.
  • Its fire-physical based damage, meaning it might not look strong (200% additional damage) like the other 2 ultimates, but this skill is essiential for PvP!

'EARTH TREE

Stone Barrier

  • This is one of the self-buffs you would be using a lot... especially if you're hanging around Archosaur's West Gate or the Silver Pool. This skill (when maxed) gives you DOUBLE of your already-low Physical Defense! Should I say again, DOUBLE!

  • Sage effects- Just gives more Earth Resistance, it's now 150% instead of 100%.
  • Demon effects- The skill used to give double physical defense, now guess what, it now gives Double and a HALF!

Note: Sage/Demon upgrades the skil to give 120% more Earth resistance and 120% Physical defense already, so if you choose Sage, the skill will give 120% more Physical defense and 150% more Earth Resistance, for Demon the skill will give 150% more Physical Defense and 120% more Earth Resistance.

Other facts to know:

  • This skill is learned at level 9 and can be maxed at level 54.
  • Once again, it DOUBLES your defense when maxed.
  • The skill costs 30 chi, so just don't go to PKing areas when you don't have any chi! Get some chi first!
  • This skill also gives double defense to your existing Earth defense. Not useful though unless you are facing a Psychic or another Wizard.
  • This skill lasts 15 minutes.

Sandstorm

  • This is one decent attack skill (in other word, a LOT of damage is dealt when you use this skill on your opponent!) and it also reduces your opponent's Accuracy to 50% for 10 seconds (when maxed). It also deals 300% OF WEAPON DAMAGE (when maxed).

  • Sage effects- Decreased accuracy by 15 seconds.
  • Demon effects- Adds additional damage by 1200.

Note: Sage/Demon upgrade will affect the skill to deal damage by 6560 and range is extended to 30 meters.

Other facts to know:

  • This skill is learned at level 39 and can be maxed at level 75.
  • Lowers enemy accuracy by 50%.
  • This skill costs no chi.
  • This skill costs double of the money/spirit invested into maxing Divine Pyrogram.
  • Maxed additional damage is 4288 (Non-sage/demon culti).
  • Almost the same casting time as Stone Rain.
