Formatting Standardization[edit]

While I appreciate what you were trying to do, some of your edits have removed some of the formatting that this wiki is standardized on. For example, you removed the indentation on the PWpedia:Community portal‎ page, but that indentation is the standard way that wikis in replies on talk pages so that it is clear who is responding to whom. Also, you should never edit someone else's comments on a talk page, short of removing spam, vandalism, or profanity, since you are changing their meaning. Another example, in the "T" entry on the Abbreviations and Terms page you removed the capitalization that was intended to highlight the sources of the letters in the initialization used in various abbreviations. If you see errors to be corrected or improvements that can be made, please do continue to make them, but first make sure that you are not undoing something that is done for a good reason. If you have any questions or reasons why you think a different standard should be followed, please let me know. Thanks. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 13:57, 17 March 2011 (PDT)

Again, please try to follow the standards of the wiki. I've written up a Wiki Style Guide to help everyone understand what standards should be followed here. So, while I appreciate all of your efforts, currently I feel like I have to follow your edits around, cleaning up all of the nonstandard edits you make. For example, in your edits today I had to change "STR" back to "Str" in the Barbarian article (attributes should only have the first letter capitalized) and I had to remove the underlining you did in the Level 71 - 80 article (underlining should be avoided if at all possible so the text isn't mistaken for a link). Following the standards means a more consistent and understandable style for the users, and less work for me so I'm not fixing most of your edits. Thanks. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 12:27, 28 June 2011 (PDT)
OK, I tried contacting you on your Core Connect page, but so far no response. I hope you do eventually read this, because I'm undoing about half of your edits for one reason or another. For example, on the Territory Wars you changed it so part of the article used the word "Tier" while another part of the article used the word "Level" to refer to the same thing (see here). Text in the articles should be consistent, and this is just one of several articles where you've changed one part's format, but not the rest, leaving a confusing mish-mash of two different styles on the page. On the Token Packs page you incorrectly changed the open stars (☆) to closed stars (★) for items that have open stars in their name, such as ☆☆Warsong Barrier·Void. In that change you also changed the table formatting, and IMHO it just didn't look very good, so I ended up undoing all of that work. Again, I appreciate what you're trying to do, but you're not paying attention to the Recent Changes page (link available on the left of every page) and noticing that many of your changes are getting undone because they don't conform to the standards for the wiki. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 11:52, 3 August 2011 (PDT)

Re: Formatting Standardization[edit]

I do apologise, here I thought somebody was trolling my edits, it was a mod. I didn't realise I was in violation of that. I haven't been watching this page as I never use the talk page. If there is anything else that you are concerned with please contact me once more. An additional question while you are in contact with me, about the star/color of the items. Below I'll list two perspective as to why I would change the formats. I will also list many other reason why I did so. Hopefully you will see my reasons and understand, even if I must follow standards. I will do my best to remember these things and the info you have provided me for future references. Thanks again and I shall attempt to be more alert on the edits page as well as my talk page and CORE Connect. :)

(☆) > (★) or (★) > (☆)[edit]

Shown format as you provided:

Format inherited from PWI directly:  (I did many searches and took hours to gather the format based on the Encylopedia in-game)

NOTE: The colors may have been changed on charts based on the compatible color chart for web standards, in HTML standards. I tried hard to match the original colors while maintaining web compatibility standards as a new addition to the Wiki. (see HTML Colors (section: Web Safe Colors?)

Level > Tier[edit]

The reason I changed Level to Tier was inherited from a resource on the PWI website. (Please see Game Info > Advanced Info > Territory War)

Not-Listed[edit]

I apologise once again as the other edits/changes made were inexcusable and otherwise have no statement to support them. :/

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. Work has been busy, thus I have been a bit lazy lately. I apologize.
Regarding the stars, you're correct, they should be solid instead of hollow. I assumed that the PWDB had the correct information, but apparently they don't.  :-P
Regarding "Tier", the game information on the website is horribly screwed up, inconsistent, and out of date. I've sent Frankieraye two PMs on the matter, and he has yet to implement any of the corrections I sent him. I'd take anything there with a grain of salt.
Finally, if you want to contact me, please use my talk page instead of the Community Portal page (I moved the comment to my talk page).
Thanks, and I apologize again for not getting back to you sooner. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 18:43, 15 September 2011 (PDT)

Two quick notes[edit]

In your recent edit to the Rank and Reputation/RankIX page you made two problematic edits. The first was minor, but you should not over-abbreviate. Changing "Attack Level" to "Att. LV" and the like is unnecessary and potentially confusing to those who don't already know PWI terms. The other is a bit more major, where you removed a space from a somewhat broken external URL, which broke it further. The link should not have had a "|" in it to begin with, but by removing the space you added the word "patch" to the URL instead of displaying that word on the page. The correct way to fix that would have been to remove the "|" and to leave the space there. External links should be in the format "[URLHere Text Description Here]", where the first space shows where the URL ends and the text description of that URL begins. Make sure you check the preview of the page for little things like that before posting changes. Thanks. -- Sangodoc - PWI wiki mod (talk) 12:49, 11 October 2011 (PDT)

You are right, my abbreviating terms may be standard to PWI, however lack the defination to new players, etc. The second issue was a common mistake I guess. I don't usually do that. I mixed it up with the internal link format, when it was an external link. That would be why I mistakingly added the "|" pipe character. Internal links are in a format [[URL here|Text Here]] where the external link would be [URL_here Text Here]. Sorry and thanks! --XxSoloPkX 20:22, 10 November 2011 (PST)
